Becoming a Member

Membership in the Eielson Spouses Club helps to support all of the fun activities and events that we host throughout each board year! We work hard to bring you awesome and fun events and activities that go above and beyond the cost of your membership! We are also pleased to announce a new structure to the membership fees! We worked hard to overcome the financial barrier that some people face so now, your membership fees will be based on the rank of your service member. This helps not only add value to your membership, but also makes it more accessible to the entire base community regardless of your financial status. If you are still having trouble paying your dues, but you really want to join, reach out to us! It is likely that someone else has opted to pay for someone else's membership and we might be able to reduce or even eliminate your out of pocket costs for your first year's dues!We can't wait to see you at our next event and welcome to the club!

Eielson AFB, AKOpen:

The ESC Thrift Shop is run operated by the Eielson Spouses Club and run by an all-volunteer workforce. We take your donations and our team of talented helpers sort, organize, price, and display these items out on our sales floor. Other than a small portion of our sales taken to pay for our operational supplies, all of the money we make from our sales goes towards our community giving program and ends up right back in our local community! This is one of the most impactful ways that the Eielson Spouses Club gives back to our community! Please note the graphic below for what we can't accept to help maximize our volunteer's time.

Community Giving Requests

The Eielson Spouses Club raises funds for our Community Giving Fund through sales made at our ESC Thrift Shop. Through the dedicated hard work of our volunteers and the generous donations provided by the community, we are able to generate a reliable pool of funds. Our Board is directed to dispense these funds to organizations that have a positive impact on the lives of the Eielson AFB community. This is how it works: (This is important!)Requesting periods are open from the 26th of the month through the 25th of the following month (for example, a request period may be open from August 26th - September 25th.) After the request period closes, all the requests received will be reviewed by a committee and a recommendation will be made to the Board of Directors at their next Board meeting which usually occurs on the first Friday of each Month (in this same example of Aug26-Sep25, the board would meet the first Friday of October). At that meeting, the Board will then vote on the requests. Requestors will be notified following the Board meeting via email as to the status of their request. It is possible that the request be approved for a different amount than was requested. The Board may also request that additional information be provided before the request is decided on.Due to this process, it is highly advisable that organizations submit requests as early as possible to avoid delays in funding as we are unable to provide funds for events that have already occurred. If you have any questions, please direct them to the Community Giving Treasurer via email.
At this time, our Community Giving Requests are closed for the 2025-2026 Board year. We will update this page once the program resumes after the start of our next Board year.If you have an emergency funding request that you would like us to consider, please use the email icon at the bottom of any page of this site to contact our Executive Board Members.
The Eielson Spouses Club
In 2019, the Eielson Spouses Club was formed when the Eielson Officer Spouses' Club and the Eielson Enlisted Spouses' Clubs unified. Prior to that, the two club worked separately to better the lives of the respective families of their members, but it was decided that by combining their efforts, they would have a greater impact on the Eielson Community as a single entity. The Eielson Spouses Club is actually two entities in one. There is the Social Club side which is a 501(c)7 membership supported organization. They hold fundraising events to be able to host events for their members that range from fun activities and experiences that are entirely unique to Alaska and are meant to be wholly enjoyable and enriching. Then there is the Charitable side of the organization which is a 501(c)3 and runs the Eielson Thrift Shop. Our all-volunteer run Thrift Shop takes the items generously donated from our community, then sorts, prices, organizes, and sells them back to the community at reasonable prices. Those sales (other than the small cost to keep everything running) goes into our Community Giving Fund. This Fund is sent directly back into the Eielson Community in ways that will have a positive impact on the morale and welfare of the base community. We do this by taking funding requests through our website and then each month, our Board of Directors meets to decide which organizations to fund. Each quality item you donate to the Thrift Shop helps us support things like Youth Activities, Squadron Celebrations, ALS Graduations, Promotions, Retirements, and Holiday Parties across the base! We couldn't do this without your support and the dedicated hard work of our amazing volunteers!
